Downloads are the real difference
In September 2026 Suno moved to a download quota: seven downloads for the life of a free account, twenty a month on Pro and sixty on Premier. Past that, its App Store listing sells single download credits, at $2.99 and $4.99, or three for $8.95. That is a reasonable way to run a large service, and it fits people who make a lot of songs and keep a few.
Hitz AI runs on the opposite assumption. If you made it, you can download it as an MP3. There is no meter to watch, no fee per file, and no month where the song you want is the one you cannot have.
Owning what you make
Suno's policy says free trial downloads are for personal use, and commercial rights come with a paid plan. The Hitz AI terms say you own the songs you generate, including for commercial use, and they make no distinction between plans. Use a song in a video, play it at an event, put it in your playlist. The conditions are the ordinary ones in the terms, like not claiming a human wrote it and not clearing someone else's lyrics as your own.
iMessage: we got there first
Hitz AI shipped its iMessage extension in June 2026, when the app was still called SendTunes, because the whole idea started in text threads. Suno added an iMessage feature in July 2026. Launch coverage noted two limits: both people in the conversation need Suno installed, and the songs are 30-second clips. In Hitz AI the song you make in Messages is a full track, and the person receiving it needs nothing but a phone.
Four models under one roof
Suno refines one model family and releases new versions on a steady cadence. Hitz AI lets you pick the model per song. V8 Fast is a quicker take that keeps the musical detail. V8 Pro gives lifelike vocals and rich arrangements with the most control. V8 Evo makes wilder, less predictable readings of your lyrics. V8 Raw keeps arrangements simpler and is the least likely to be held up by content limits. Three of the four return two takes of every song, so you compare and choose without paying twice.
What you are allowed to write
Every generator draws lines. Copyrighted lyrics, impersonating real people, sexually explicit content, harassment and hate stay off limits, as the terms set out. Inside those lines, Hitz AI tries not to second-guess your song. A bitter breakup song, a roast for the group chat, a song that is a bit too honest: those are songs, and we would rather you got to make them.
